About

The history of wind energy is often told through the eyes of wind turbine manufacturers, yet, while turbines are necessary to wind energyt, successful, specific projects require a great deal of knowledge about the site conditions, and their interplay with the turbine behavior.

These studies are often called “Wind & Site” studies, and are the primary focus of this website, dedicated to sharing a collection of early works on wind energy, wind turbine aerodynamics (in their natural environment), wind turbine siting and atmospheric boundary layer science.

I am mostly interested in material and stories prior to 1990; yet I am looking more and more into the market dynamics (in particular for Wind & Site studies) in the early 1990s, in Europe and in the US.

My name is Rémi, I work in the Offshore Wind industry in Denmark, don’t hesitate to contact me via Twitter or LinkedIn.
